Answers to common questions

What equipment will the musicians require?
The musicians will require a set of chairs, and a piano if one is to be used. If there is no piano available at the venue, Enchanting Sounds can provide an electronic piano for an additional fee. We will be happy to provide our own music stands.

How will the musicians be dressed?
Standard attire for the musicians is formal concert black. If black attire is not desired, this can be changed by request.

Will the musicians attend the rehearsal for my event?
It is not necessary for experienced musicians to attend event rehearsals, as long as clear cues and instructions are provided in advance.

Will the musicians take breaks?
For events where the musicians will be playing for long periods of time without interruption, ten minutes of each hour will be allotted for the musicians’ breaks.

Can the musicians play outside?
Enchanting Sounds regularly plays for outdoor events. However, the musicians must be shielded from the sun, and from any adverse weather conditions. It is also important to be aware that most musical instruments will be affected by the heat, cold, or wind, and may go out of tune during extreme weather conditions.

How should I select the music to be played?
An extensive sampling of short recordings is accessible, to aid in the process of selecting your music. Additionally, we will consult with you concerning your musical needs and offer advice based upon your stylistic preferences and the structure of your event.
For a wedding ceremony, most prelude music should be slower and more subtle in character, while music played after the ceremony should be grandiose and upbeat to add to the sense of celebration.
All selections on our demo recordings are performed by Enchanting Sounds musicians.

Must I choose my selections only from those featured on the website?
No- the recordings on the website are intended only to aid in the selection process. If you are interested in having a piece played which is not featured on the site, please feel free to inquire.

Will Enchanting Sounds musicians collaborate with outside soloists?
Yes, however we strongly prefer not to pair our own soloists with outside pianists. If the musicians will be expected to collaborate with a vocalist or other soloist, all rehearsal must take place on the day of the event shortly before the musicians’ scheduled start time.

Is there a charge for travel?
As long as the event is less than one hour’s driving distance from Baltimore, MD, there is no charge for travel. For events which are more than an hour from Baltimore, a travel fee may be assessed
